Fake it, til ya' make it

Hello, Hello :)

Welcome to my first real blog (*fingers crossed*). I've tried blogging in the past and failed miserably. I attempted to write these awesome, insightful pieces on life, death, and other things, which is just not me at all. I'm not one to just sit and reflect on life, even if sometimes I wish I was. I am extremely active. If I'm at the house, you probably won't find me sitting around. I am always looking for stuff to do, and thus my blog was born.

I've always been a pretty crafty kid. I use to paint rocks and make duck tape wallets for everyone I knew. My mom taught me to sew, a skill I am very thankful to have. So I made lots and lots of pillows...sewing a square is easy ;) I've also done a lot of baking in my lifetime. I was in charge of decorating the cakes my mom made for people in town. Creating your kids favorite Disney character on a cake is not that easy, people. Once I was in college, I may or may not have snuck a mini-cupcake maker into the dorm rooms so I could continue baking (bribed my RA with cupcakes so of course I never got in trouble for having it). As far as my cooking goes, it depends on who you ask. My mom claims I don't know how to cook, but that is because at home I never had to. Why cook if someone else was going to do it for me. But now...there isn't someone at home cooking for me. I've learned to put my creativity into cooking as well...aka I'm make crap up in the kitchen too. Fake it, till ya' make it!

People are always commenting on my creations and asking questions about the things I make/do. I'll let ya in on a little secret...I'm a big, fat, copy cat. Yea, I said it, a copy cat. For real though, I am the queen of looking up lots of different tutorials, typically on Pinterest, and then mushing them all together to create something that is semi-my own. Faking creativity this whole time...sue me! Being creative doesn't always mean you have to think of something out of thin air. Sometimes being creative is taking an idea someone else had and making it your own. Through this blog my goal is to give some helpful tutorials, answer questions, and inspire a little bit of creativity in you.

Sneak peak...Here's some things you might find on my blog in the next couple months. So go ahead and click the follow button and I'll give ya a big ole hug! :)
